Team:
Jean Russell
Jean Russell, founder of Nurture.biz, is a certified NLP Coach. Jean is dedicated to restructuring institutions so as to bring out the best in humans. She has worked with grassroots co-ops and traditional corporations alike, helping them understand how communicating, fundraising, and publishing can be redesigned to embrace human values like warmth, clarity, and faith in others' potential and good will.
In 2008, Jean co-founded Guildsmiths, a consultancy that teaches right-brain thinking to corporations and nonprofits. Jean also co-founded Navigators Guild, a local social benefit consultancy addressing social media assessments and adoption. She has facilitated social benefit conferences, cooperating with colleagues in fields ranging from technology (esp social media), to green/sustainable design, philanthropy, currencies, community development, international development, and human rights.
Jean co-founded Inspired Legacies, sits on the board for Catalytic Communities, advises the wagn.org project, and co-organizes Chicago Net Tuesdays.
Practically speaking, what does that mean?
Jean works with clients such as OsoEco, PeopleBrowsr, and others to design social media spaces. She strives to achieve "aliveness" within social spaces. This requires attention to flows of information, sensing into user needs, using incentives to direct participant actions, and framing safe spaces. As a top rated participant on the illustrious Omidyar.net community as well as holding a twitter grade of over 99%, Jean understands community dynamics from a participant perspective.
